Even Still

DAY 15 OF 28

Want an easy-to-remember way to read and study the Bible? No matter which passage of Scripture you're reading, ask yourself these three questions: "What?" "So What?" "Now What?" We'll show you how!

WHAT? What is this passage about?

In today's passage, we find the Israelites in a time of extreme hardship. What directions do we see being given for how they should live?

SO WHAT? Why does it matter?

The exact instructions given to the Israelites probably don't apply to our specific circumstances, but what can they teach us about how to approach less than ideal seasons?

How can recognizing God's presence help make a bad situation better even if the situation doesn't change?

NOW WHAT? What should I do about it?

When was a time you noticed God's presence in a time of darkness, even if you didn't see how God was working until later?

God doesn't expect us to stay in a place where we're hurt over and over. God wants us to experience life in healthy and whole ways. Do you need to change something to remove yourself from a harmful situation or relationship?

What would it look like to redefine something in your life that can't be changed? It might be the details of the situation can't change, but your attitude toward it can.

About this Plan

Even Still

When life feels dark—like nothing is going right and nothing ever will—it’s easy to feel lost and hopeless. But just like the sun, moon, and stars light up the darkest sky, God’s light shines in our lives even in the hardest moments because God’s presence carries us, no matter what we face. For the next 28 days, we’ll explore how God meets us in our pain and brings light to guide us through. We’ll learn that even when we lose hope, God is closer than we know.
