Psalm 127 Warriors: Part 2Sample

Psalm 127 Warriors: Part 2

DAY 3 OF 3

By Amorita Weaver

Living as a Kingdom Warrior

As we conclude this plan and study on Psalm 127, let’s review what we’ve discovered. The overall theme of this psalm is to substantiate the claim that we need complete dependence on God for any and all success. We must depend on God, on His blessing, and seek Him to crown our endeavors with success.

Practically speaking, how can you and I embrace living as Kingdom Warriors?

  1. In Psalm 127:1, we see that the first step is acknowledging this truth (underlined above). Then reflect and repent of areas you have attempted to take back control or stray from God’s ways.
  2. Rest in God’s Provision - place your confidence and security in Yahweh! Rely on Him and surrender to His guidance (v.2). In this, we mirror Jesus by exclaiming “Not my will but Yours be done” (Luke 22:42).
  3. Declare your children as a blessing, as a divine heritage entrusted to us from God. Begin the practice of daily thanksgiving to God for your children (v.3).
  4. Embrace humility in parenting and pursue the virtue of love (v.4).
  5. Seek to live your life in unity with God - your children will become a branch of this divine unity - bringing honor to God, their Heavenly Father, and their earthly family (v.5).

It is important to note that success in the Christian life isn’t equal to the secular world’s definition of the word. We need to remind ourselves that on this side of Heaven…

● God’s path brings incomparable contentment but not the absence of difficulty.

● God’s path brings blessings and fruitfulness but not the absence of pain.

● God’s path brings value to our existence but not the absence of sorrow.

It is in this we CAN say…

“Not that I speak from [any personal] need, for I have learned to be content [and self-sufficient through Christ, satisfied to the point where I am not disturbed or uneasy] regardless of my circumstances. I know how to get along and live humbly [in difficult times], and I also know how to enjoy abundance and live in prosperity. In any and every circumstance, I have learned the secret [of facing life], whether fed or going hungry, whether having an abundance or being in need. I can do all things [which He has called me to do] through Him who strengthens and empowers me [to fulfill His purpose - I am self-sufficient in Christ’s sufficiency; I am ready for anything and equal to anything through Him who infuses me with inner strength and confident peace.] Philippians 4:11-13 Amplified Bible.

#1 Warrior’s Strategy → Believe and live as though God is Lord of your life - depending on no one apart from God.

The Holy Spirit is here to help us.

Pray with me:

Father God… King Jesus… Holy Spirit… Most Holy Triune God,

I submit myself to Your Ways. I repent of self-sufficiency in myself. I am Yours, my household is Yours. Holy Spirit, teach me what complete dependence on Abba Father looks like in my day-to-day life. Thank You for Your steadfast love and unending mercy! In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Meditation:

I am a child of God, a mighty Kingdom Warrior. My life is dependent upon God, I rely on Him. My hope is in Jesus; in Him, my joy is complete. My Helper is the Holy Spirit; in Him, I have all I need.
