The Best Place

Then Moses replied, “If you aren’t going with us, please don’t make us leave this place.”

“Where are we going now?” As a kid, you get to go to a lot of places and see a lot of things. It can be so awesome!

But it can also be so scary! When you don’t know what the new place will be like, you might be worried if you will like it. It can be a lot different, from how people talk to what they eat or the games they play.

When Moses and the Israelites were moving from Egypt to the new place God promised them, they knew it would be really great. God said the new place had lots of good food and, best of all, they wouldn’t have to be slaves anymore.

But even though Moses really wanted to get there, he didn’t want to go on the journey without God. He prayed, “If you won’t go with us, I don’t want to go.” Moses knew having God with him is better than being in the most wonderful place without him. Having God with us is what makes any place awesome!
