Fully Known: A 5-Day Journey Through Psalm 139Sample

Intro:
Think about this… God doesn’t need to get to know you—He created you. He knows everything about you. Yet culture encourages us to spend so much energy “finding ourselves” because the world tells us that self reliance and self discovery are essential for personal happiness and growth. But the deepest and most true understanding of who we actually are doesn’t come from looking inward—it comes from looking to our Creator.
The One who knit you together in your mother’s womb did so with specific intention, unique purpose, and so much love. He not only defines your identity but also is constantly shaping you into who He made you to be so that you don’t live beneath your holy potential. You are not your own—you were bought with a price (1 Corinthians 6:20). You’ve never been overlooked or forgotten by Him.
You are God’s daughter, an heir to the throne, a light in the darkness, and a living testimony of His grace and goodness. When you walk fully in the identity He has given you, your life is proof to the rest of the world that Jesus is who He says He is. But when you try to live outside of His design, doubting your worth, chasing the world's definition of identity, or shrinking back from His calling, you diminish His evidence in your life.
So as you go through this devotional, stand firm in the confidence that you are His. Let this study fix your eyes on Jesus—whether for the first time or as a renewed focus. Lean into His truth, embrace His calling, and run boldly toward the purpose He created you for. Because the more you know God, the more you’ll understand who you truly are—the real you, fully known and deeply loved.
Day 1: Fully Known by God
Psalm 139:1-6 reminds us that God knows everything about us—our thoughts, actions, and even our unspoken words. Nothing is hidden from Him, yet He loves us completely. In a world where we often feel misunderstood or unseen, God’s intimate knowledge of us is a powerful reminder of our worth and identity in Him. We don’t have to strive for His attention or prove our value—He already knows us and calls us His own. As we reflect on His deep knowledge of us, may we rest in the truth that we are fully known and fully loved.
- Journaling Prompt: How does knowing that God fully knows and loves you change the way you see yourself and your relationship with Him?
- Prayer Prompt: Ask God to help you rest in the assurance of His love and to trust that you don’t have to earn His approval.
