Developing Spiritual Effectiveness Through Daily Intimacy With GodSample

THE WISDOM OF SUBMISSION TO GODLY COUNSEL
One vital key to spiritual effectiveness is your openness to godly counsel. Proverbs 11:14 reveals, "Where no counsel is, the people fall: but in the multitude of counsellors there is safety." Many believers stumble or limit their effectiveness because they avoid seeking or receiving counsel. Wise believers embrace submission as a protective covering and a source of clarity in decision-making.
Effective leaders and believers never disregard counsel from trusted, mature spiritual leaders. Proverbs 15:22 further instructs, "Without counsel purposes are disappointed: but in the multitude of counsellors they are established." Receiving counsel helps you navigate the complexities of life and ministry more confidently, providing clarity and stability.
I frequently remind believers that submission to godly counsel is never a sign of weakness; rather, it demonstrates wisdom and humility. Even Moses, with his immense spiritual stature, willingly received advice from Jethro, which greatly enhanced his effectiveness (Exodus 18:17-24). Through counsel, Moses avoided burnout and increased his leadership effectiveness significantly.
Examine your attitude toward godly counsel today. Are you receptive and humble enough to seek and accept advice from spiritual authorities God has placed around you? Embrace wise counsel, and you will find yourself more effective, grounded, and fruitful in fulfilling your divine assignment.
THOUGHT TO PONDER:
Do you regularly seek and submit to godly counsel, or do you rely solely on your understanding? How can you open your heart more intentionally to wise advice?
PRAYER:
Father, help me walk in humility and openness to godly counsel. May my decisions always reflect wisdom that honours You and ensures lasting fruitfulness. In Jesus' name, Amen.
