Under the Surface: Facing What's Hidden & Finding FreedomSample

The Weight of Depression
Even the strongest believers have moments of deep sadness. Elijah is one of those people that you wouldn’t expect to have struggled with depression. He was a prophet who had seen God do incredible things, but there was a time when he found himself exhausted and hopeless despite knowing God’s goodness.
Depression and despair are real struggles in the Bible. But know that God didn’t shame Elijah. He cared for him, gave him rest, and reminded him he wasn’t alone. If you’re struggling with depression, know that God sees you and wants to meet you in your pain. He doesn’t condemn you for feeling low. He’s ready to meet you there, sustain you, and give you hope to keep going.
What would it look like for you to let God meet you in your struggles instead of trying to push through on your own?

About this Plan

We all have parts of us we try to keep hidden – thoughts we don’t say out loud, feelings we push down, struggles we hope no one sees. But healing can’t happen in hiding. God is inviting you to bring your struggles into the light. Through this plan, explore what Scripture says about the battles we fight beneath the surface and how honesty, community, and God’s truth can set us free.
