More Than Just a Kid

God cares for me, his humble servant. From now on, all people will say God has blessed me.

Luke 1:48 (CEV)

Do you ever feel like just a little kid that no one pays attention to? Maybe you have to go to your big sister’s activities and don’t get to stay home and play. Maybe Mom and Dad are too busy with your baby brother to help you. Maybe you think God doesn’t notice you either.

But God sees you, just as he saw Mary from this week’s Scripture. Mary wasn’t a princess, and the man she was going to marry was a carpenter. They were just two common people. But Mary loved God.

God chose Mary to give birth to baby Jesus, and she said yes to God’s plan. Because she trusted God, she got to hold baby Jesus and raise him to be God’s servant. And because God used Mary in this mighty way, we all get to have Jesus as our Savior!

So, hang in there! God sees you and loves you. And like Mary, you can say yes to God’s awesome purpose for your life!

TIME TO PRAY

God, thank you for seeing me and loving me! Help me to trust you like Mary did.
