Love Of all God's attributes, the one we tend to champion most is love. And for good reason-where would we be apart from God's love? We dare not even imagine! And we never need to because if there's one thing the Bible makes absolutely clear, it's this: God is love. But based on our circumstances, it may not seem like it. If we measure God's love by the direction our emotional compass happens to be pointing, it won't always feel like He cares. It doesn't matter. There's nothing in this existence that can ever affect this unalterable fact: God is love. He loves you, and there's nothing you can ever do to change His mind or make Him stop. Love is part of God's divine DNA, and He makes this an unmistakable "can't miss" throughout His Word. "The LORD your God turned the curse into a blessing for you, because the LORD your God loves you." (Deuteronomy 23:5 NKJV) How precious is Your lovingkindness, O God! Therefore the children of men put their trust under the shadow of Your wings. (Psalms 36:7 NKJV) The LORD has appeared of old to me, saying: "Yes, I have loved you with an everlasting love; therefore with lovingkindness I have drawn you. (Jeremiah 31:3 NKJV) But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. (Romans 5:8 NKJV) Behold what manner of love the Father has bestowed on us, that we should be called children of God! (1 John 3:1 NKJV) There's plenty of bad news in this world. But there's good news that tips the scales in your favor today: God is love. Even if that's the only good news you get this day, week, or year, it's enough. No matter what the direction our emotional compass happens to be pointing,there's nothing in this existence that can ever affect this unalterable fact:God is love.
