The psalmist in this chapter is dealing with deep feelings of agony. Eventually, he gets to a place where he makes a conscious decision to shift his focus from his pain to the past promises of God. His ability to remember gave him the strength to endure in sorrow.

My prayer for you as you listen to this song is that you wouldn’t just be reminded that God is faithful, but that you would be reminded of the testimonies in your own life—the moments where God’s faithfulness was undeniable.

The busyness of life often pushes us toward the next thing so quickly that we forget what the Lord has done. If we’re not careful, our current needs can easily cloud our memories of God’s faithfulness. When we forget to meditate on His goodness, it blurs our vision of Him and weakens our trust in Him. Let’s allow God to steady our hearts and allow the Spirit to bring to remembrance who He is. I believe He is inviting us to hold fast to His word and His works—past, present, those yet to come.

I love that this song speaks to just that. Scripture reveals that Jesus is the Faithful and True Witness; what He says will never return void. His track record is faithful. Just think about Eden, the cross, His blood, His resurrection and your own life. He’s been faithful all the time. He is the promise that keeps His promises.

Be encouraged that in our seasons of waiting, uncertainty, or sorrow, we have a choice—to dwell on our worries or to meditate on the truth of who God has proven to be. We can find His faithfulness in our history with Him; it is active in our present and certain for our future. When we choose to remember, we align our hearts with the reality of His unchanging nature, and it fuels our faith to remain steadfast. Take this moment to pause, reflect, and give thanks for all He has done. His goodness never runs out, and His mercies are new every morning. Let us remember and worship Him with grateful hearts. May we never forget His goodness but carry it with us as a foundation for our faith. If He did it before, then He can surely do it again. May this song point you to Him, the faithful one.
