Who Is Jesus?Sample

Who is Jesus? Wait for it...
The day after Jesus was crucified there was no party; there was only pain. We must remember: Jesus was fully God and fully human; He experienced the sting of death. For centuries, people have questioned what happened on Saturday, after Jesus' death and burial and before the resurrection. While many debate what Jesus experienced on Saturday, you don’t have to have it all figured out to grasp the deeper meaning.
Surely the disciples remembered that Jesus said He would come back on the third day. The Scriptures teach us they were shocked and broken; they couldn’t believe that He was gone. They waited in hiding behind locked doors processing the realization that Jesus was dead.
Little did they know, Saturday was not the end but just the beginning! Saturday would be the day that Jesus would take the darkness of death and blast it with holy light! That’s why the day is often referred to as Holy Saturday. God was not done. Jesus was defeating death!
In the same way, God is not done with you. It may seem as though things are not going your way, or you are not getting the answers you want, but God has a plan. His plan is better than you can ever imagine. God’s view is that “no eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind can imagine the plans God has for those who love Him.” Hang in there, God’s not done with you, perhaps today is your Holy Saturday. Just because you don’t see Him at work doesn’t mean the story is over yet. God’s just getting started…Sunday is around the corner!
Reflect:
Do you ever find yourself doubting God’s plans for your life? What does the Bible teach about God’s plan? How should the Bible shape your hope for the future?
Respond:
Ask God to help you to trust His process for your life and if you're in a "Saturday" moment where every hope seems lost, trust that God is still at work, making your testimony story work out for your good and His glory. He has resurrection power to breathe new life into your wait time. His silence doesn't mean that He isn't still at work on your behalf. Wait on the Lord!
Pray:
God, help me align my plans with Your heart. Help me trust You, especially when I don’t see the results just yet. I know that You are at work behind the scenes even when the part that I see appears bleak at the moment. Help me have Your perspective. You are doing a much bigger thing than what I know down here. Give me eyes to see from Your perspective. Thank You for loving me and for not giving up on me. In Jesus’ Name, amen.
About this Plan

Jesus calmed the wind and waves, leading the disciples to ask, “Who is this man?” Many still ask the same question today. Join this 3-week study to remember who Jesus is. It explores Old Testament prophecy, His I AM statements, and His journey to the cross. While this study is intended to be read leading up to Easter, our prayer is that this Bible reading plan encourages you to follow Jesus in every season.
