Translucent: Embracing Integrity, Purpose and the Calling to Reflect His LightSample

A Translucent Life
One day, while reading an article, I came across something fascinating: translucent materials. They are originally opaque by nature, but after a process that transforms them completely, their very essence changes—they begin to let light shine through. What was once dark and impenetrable now radiates beauty. When touched by light, these materials reveal a vibrant, renewed essence.
Wow! Something so simple, yet so profound, made me reflect on how much this mirrors our spiritual lives.
By nature, we as human beings are separated from God, and only a voluntary decision can reconcile us with Him. But through a voluntary choice, we can be reconciled with Him, allowing His light to break through and transform us.
Imagine choosing not only to admire God’s magnificent creation but to surrender to Him completely, embracing Him as your Lord. It is in that beautiful act of surrender that true transformation begins. His light reaches the deepest parts of our souls, renewing us from the inside out and making us entirely new.
Why merely be spectators of His wonders when we can become living reflections of His transformative power? Why remain hidden in our own darkness when we have the opportunity to shine, translucent and open, inviting His light to illuminate every part of our being?
Although our surrender to Christ begins with one profound, eternal decision, each day of our lives we are invited to make a new choice: to yield to Him—a renewed opportunity to entrust every area of our lives into His hands as an act of faith, believing that as we surrender, we will be perfected.
The light of Christ working in us does not leave us as we were at the start; it renews us and fills our being with fruit. It completely transforms both what we show the world and what we experience in private. Eden—a place that once seemed confined to the pages of Genesis—now lives within our very being. What was once opaque now radiates His light; the dulls turns vibrant; where there once was desolation, life begins to bloom. Chaos transforms into order, anxiety into peace, and discouragement is replaced by hope.
Finally, by surrendering ourselves into His hands, we embrace a promise: He will continue to perfect us so that we may reflect His work within us ever more clearly. And one day, when we are in eternity, we will no longer be merely translucent—we will be perfectly transparent, a pure reflection of His glory, without blemish or shadow.
Reflection:
Are you ready to let the light of Christ transform every corner of your life? Will you surrender daily to His loving guidance and let His brilliance shine through you? What area of your life do you feel needs surrender today so that He can continue His work in you?
Prayer:
Lord, make me translucent. Let Your light shine in me and transform me from the inside out. Amen.
About this Plan

Translucent is the name of my latest album, and I believe there are no songs without lived experiences. So, based on my reflections, I wanted to create this devotional—a journey where we explore how integrity, vulnerability, and a heart open to God’s transformation allow us to live authentically and with purpose. Together, we’ll discover how embracing His work in us—both in who we are and who we are becoming—enables us to reflect the light of Christ in every aspect of our lives.
