EquipHer Vol. 13: "Owning Your Power With Professional Grace"Sample

Day 5 – Testifying Our Identity in Christ
"Power and grace are not opposites: they are two sides of the same coin that, together, testify to His presence in every aspect of our lives."
As women of faith in the workplace, we are constantly balancing the exercise of authority with our commitment to reflect Christ's character. Our identity in Christ is the foundation that allows us to approach this balance in the right way.
True strength is not only in asserting our authority, but in doing so with love, respect, and a gentle heart. In Colossians 3:12, we are called to "clothe yourselves, as God's chosen ones, with compassion, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience." The kindness that comes from the Holy Spirit enables us to act with strength and, at the same time, with grace. Our leadership, in fact, is not measured only by our ability to influence or decide, but by our attitude in doing so with the heart of Christ.
Our authority is not diminished by kindness; on the contrary, it is strengthened, because it is in gentleness that we demonstrate the strength that comes from the Lord.
The power we possess as leaders should never be used to overpower, but to inspire and build. As women of faith, we are called to be agents of change, bringing the light of Christ into every situation. The authenticity of our leadership is a testimony of who we are in Christ, and our ability to be kind, even under pressure, is a sign of this Truth.
Our purpose is clear: to be instruments of God in the world, with our authority, but always with the grace and kindness that reflect His heart.
Reflective Questions
- How can I exercise my authority with the kindness that comes from God in my work?
- What fruits of the Spirit can I cultivate to be a leader who truly represents Christ?
Prayer
Lord, thank You for calling me to be a testimony of Your love in every aspect of my life, even in my work. I ask You to help me exercise my authority with the kindness You teach me, so that with every decision and word, I can reflect Your heart. Grant my spirit the peace and strength needed to remain steadfast in my identity in Christ, without being influenced by the opinions of others. I thank You for Your guidance and for Your endless grace. Amen.

About this Plan

Every woman of faith is called to represent Christ, even in the spheres of business in which she occupies. The journey is not always easy, but we can learn to balance boldness with kindness: embracing the power we have been given without compromising our identity in Christ.
