Who are you going to serve? Joshua is urging the Israelites to be rid of the gods they worshipped in the past. What things have been lord of your life in the past? No one can be forced into serving the Lord. It is a choice made within one’s heart and mind. Man looks at the outward appearance, but God looks at the heart.

Consider your heart today. If you are honest with yourself, are you currently serving the Lord, or has something or someone else taken the place of the Lord in your life? Have you been striving to prove something? Have you been spending all your time searching for the next thing that will “fix” the issues in your life? You have the choice today to choose whom you will serve: yourself and the people around you, or maybe you will choose today to serve the Lord.
