God's Presence - a Critical Tool for AdvancementSample

ABIDING UNDER HIS SHADOW
The presence of God is not a place we visit occasionally; it is a place we are invited to abide. Psalm 91:1 speaks of the one who “dwelleth in the secret place of the most High” and promises that such a person “shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.” To abide is to remain, to dwell, and to stay consistently connected to God.
Jesus echoed this principle in John 15:4-5, saying, “Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me.” Just as a branch derives life and nourishment from the vine, we thrive spiritually when we remain rooted in God’s presence.
Abiding under God’s shadow is a deliberate choice. It requires consistency in prayer, devotion, and obedience. It is not enough to visit God’s presence when we feel the need; we must live in it daily. His presence offers safety, strength, and sustenance that cannot be found elsewhere.
David, the psalmist, understood the beauty of abiding in God’s presence. His declaration, “The LORD is my refuge and my fortress” (Psalm 91:2), was not mere words but a reflection of a life lived close to God.
THOUGHT TO PONDER: Are you abiding in God’s presence daily, or do you only visit when in need? What changes can you make to dwell consistently under His shadow?
PRAYER: Lord, thank You for the invitation to abide in Your presence. Teach me to remain connected to You, drawing my strength and sustenance from You daily. Let Your shadow be my refuge and my delight. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
