Returning to God: 21 Days of Prayer and FastingSample

A Heart for Prayer and Intercession
Grow a love for prayer, asking God to teach us to intercede for our church, community, and nation.
Prayer is communion with God. If we understand that relationship is the heart of Christianity, we will have a heart for prayer. Yet we often spend little time praying.
Developing the ability to spend quality time with God, seeking His face, and hearing His voice, can only happen by purposefully making time for it.
“Intercession” is not just a synonym for prayer. It is the act of standing in the gap. When a gap exists between a person in need and God, an intercessor must arise.
Whether the person in need does not know God or feels too weak to pray, your intercession brings their needs before our gracious and merciful Father.
Prayer: Lord, may I long to spend time in your presence. Guide me as I bring the needs of others before You in powerful intercession. Amen.
