I Love Jesus: 11-Day Devotional by Mac PowellSample

Ever feel like you don’t belong?
Like you’re invisible or that you don’t matter?
I’ve been there. I think we all have at some point.
Whether it’s being passed over at work, feeling distant in your relationships, or feeling numb to the everyday grind, it’s easy to feel like you don’t matter or like no one really sees you.
That’s what my new song, “Who the Cross Is For,” is about.
There’s a line in the verse that says, “You have a name, but nobody knows it.”
I think we can all relate to that at some point. When you feel overlooked or like a complete failure, it’s easy to forget the truth:
The cross is for you, my friend.
You see crosses everywhere — on necklaces, tattoos, bumper stickers — but I don’t think we always grasp what it truly means.
It’s not just a symbol.
It’s a reminder of the ultimate sacrifice and love Jesus poured out for us 2,000 years ago.
Jesus didn’t just go through physical suffering on the cross.
His closest friends abandoned Him. Even His Father had to turn away because of the weight of our sin on His shoulders.
And He endured all of that — not for Himself, but for you and me.
The cross is for you.
It’s for the ones who feel lost. It’s for those moments when you feel like you don’t matter or when you wonder if you’ll ever be enough.
The cross is God’s way of saying, “You are seen. You are loved. You matter. You were worth it.”
We can’t earn it. We don’t deserve it. But God offers us the chance to be His children — sons and daughters of the King.
The cross is a reminder that no matter how you feel, you are important to God.
So here’s my challenge for you:
The next time you feel invisible or like you don’t belong, take a moment to remember what the cross really means. It’s not just for everyone else — it’s for you.
God loved you so much that He gave His only Son. You are worth that sacrifice.
You matter to Him more than you’ll ever know.
I hope “Who the Cross Is For” reminds you of how deeply loved and valuable you are.
