Jesus returned to his hometown and began to teach in the synagogue. Sadly, He was not well received because they thought they knew Him and had seen Him grow up. “Is not this the carpenter, the son of Mary?” they said. They thought, "This guy is just the carpenter's son; how is he going to teach us anything about God?" They were offended at Him. “But Jesus, said unto them, A prophet is not without honour, but in his own country, and among his own kin, and in his own house. And he could there do no mighty work, save that he laid his hands upon a few sick folk, and healed them. And he marvelled because of their unbelief.” May we never scoff at what God can do in our own lives and in those around us simply because we think we know better.
