What is the source of promotion?
To help His audience understand His teachings, Jesus often used parables, which are simply earthly stories with a heavenly meaning or familiar real-life situations to give an example. To teach humility and pride, Jesus used a parable of a wedding feast. After Jesus noticed how people strategically placed themselves to be in the place of the most honor, He used this illustration at the wedding feast to teach them not to place themselves in the highest place and that shame often comes with self-exaltation. The Bible reminds us that God is the one that exalts (Psalm 75:6-7).
