A Year in Luke/ActsSample

With this chapter as an example, we can see that when a few people come together, to lift up the Lord in praise and to pray, bonds are broken. In verses 16 - 19, we read about a woman delivered from two kinds of bondage at once. She was released from the evil spirit of divination and she was released from the twisted authority of her employers. Immediately after that, the chains of the prison holding Paul and Silas were broken. It is not a coincidence that they were praising God when this happened. They were living in the realization that God holds the ultimate authority over all things, even the prison that they sat in.
As you read Psalm 121 with today's devotional, work through this question: Is there a bondage that has taken hold of me? Allow your answer to lead you into a posture of worship, surrender, and freedom today.
