Abide, Adore, Ask and Agree: 21 Days of Prayer and Fasting With Rock City ChurchSample

DAY 7
In Psalm 27, King David laid out WHAT he desired more than anything else and then wrote WHY he desired it. The priority of his life was the presence of the Lord. More than any other pursuit or prize in life, David wanted to dwell with God. He then gave this reason: "to gaze on the beauty of the Lord…"
The Hebrew word for "beauty" in this verse is translated elsewhere in scripture as "favor" and "pleasantness." God's beauty, favor and pleasant nature transcends any other pleasure this world has to offer. Every high, relationship, accomplishment or award will leave us wanting more. Still, there is a delight found in the presence of God that fully satisfies.
This first week of devotionals has been focused on what it means to ABIDE in God. Throughout week two, we will dive deeper into seven reasons to ADORE God through seven names He has in the Bible. To adore is to give praise and express gratitude for who God is and what He's done. It's how we respond when we see the heart of God.
REFLECTION
1. Is God your ultimate pursuit? If not, what is?
2. How have you experienced the beauty and favor of God in your life?
PRAYER FOCUS
Pray to find all you need in Jesus.
