Bible in 90 Days (B90)Sample

Day 20 • Summary • 1 Samuel 9–20:17
At God’s behest, Samuel anoints Saul as the first king of Israel. Saul’s desire to please himself and his subjects rather than God leads to disobedience, growing paranoia, and bouts of madness. As a result, God rejects him as king and selects an unlikely shepherd boy, David, as his successor. David’s victory over Goliath and his growing military prowess enrage Saul, who soon attempts to have him killed.
