Dealing With Anxious ThoughtsSample

SHUT THE DOOR!
Guilt and shame can keep us thinking about the past. But Jesus shut the door on the past when He forgave us!
Watch the video, then spend a few minutes reflecting on the questions and prayers below.
READ
"Forgetting the past and straining toward what is ahead, I keep trying to reach the goal and get the prize for which God called me through Christ to the life above."
Philippians 3:13-14 NCV
THINK
When you think about things that have happened in the past, how do you feel?
- It's gone; it's history!
- My past still affects me.
- My past only has good memories.
- I feel like I live in the past.
- I'm always looking ahead.
DO
Take a moment, close your eyes, and ask God to close the doors to your past, to the things that make you feel sad or worried.
How do you feel after doing that?
- I feel great.
- I feel a little better.
- I don't feel any different.
- Something else.
PRAY
Help me look towards the future instead of focusing on mistakes I’ve made in the past. Thank You that You love and forgive me.

About this Plan

Anxious thoughts can affect any of us at any time, but the Bible has plenty of wisdom to help us find strength and hope. Based on UCB's new daily devotional app for kids, UCB Spark, these devotions are designed to help children (aged around 10-12) personally connect with God's Word and find a place of peace with Him.
