 <div class="p">17In his defense Jesus said to them, &#8220;My Father is always at his work to this very day, and I too am working.&#8221; 18For this reason they tried all the more to kill him; not only was he breaking the Sabbath, but he was even calling God his own Father, making himself equal with God.</div><div class="p"> 19Jesus gave them this answer: &#8220;Very truly I tell you, the Son can do nothing by himself; he can do only what he sees his Father doing, because whatever the Father does the Son also does. 20For the Father loves the Son and shows him all he does. Yes, and he will show him even greater works than these, so that you will be amazed. 21For just as the Father raises the dead and gives them life, even so the Son gives life to whom he is pleased to give it. 22Moreover, the Father judges no one, but has entrusted all judgment to the Son, 23that all may honor the Son just as they honor the Father. Whoever does not honor the Son does not honor the Father, who sent him.</div><div class="p"> 24 &#8220;Very truly I tell you, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life and will not be judged but has crossed over from death to life. </div>

They made her stand before the group 4and said to Jesus, &#8220;Teacher, this woman was caught in the act of adultery. 5In the Law Moses commanded us to stone such women. Now what do you say?&#8221; 6They were using this question as a trap, in order to have a basis for accusing him.</div><div class="p"> But Jesus bent down and started to write on the ground with his finger. 7When they kept on questioning him, he straightened up and said to them, &#8220;Let any one of you who is without sin be the first to throw a stone at her.&#8221; 8Again he stooped down and wrote on the ground.</div><div class="p"> 9 At this, those who heard began to go away one at a time, the older ones first, until only Jesus was left, with the woman still standing there. 10Jesus straightened up and asked her, &#8220;Woman, where are they? Has no one condemned you?&#8221;</div><div class="p"> 11 &#8220;No one, sir,&#8221; she said.</div><div class="p"> &#8220;Then neither do I condemn you,&#8221; Jesus declared. &#8220;Go now and leave your life of sin.&#8221;</div>
