Acts 4:32-37 | a Life SurrenderedSample

Peter and John heal a crippled beggar at the temple, and the religious elite throw them in jail for it. It does not have the intended effect. Rather than scare the people off, the number of believers grows to 5000 in response to Jesus’s healing hand through Peter, and Peter’s testimony to him. Momentum is building. Something is happening!
The religious leaders are at a loss. Neither threats nor intimidation back them down. Unsure of what to do and afraid of the crowd, they let Peter and John go, who can’t wait to go and tell the disciples what happened. And together they pray, “Lord, consider their threats and enable your servants to speak your word with great boldness” (Acts 4:29).
Persecution does not diminish them. It strengthens their resolve. Their lives are pledged to Christ, and these threats don’t shake them. Because when your life is surrendered to Christ, you don’t surrender to the world.
This is what we see in Acts. The disciples never surrender Christ, even if they have to surrender their own lives. Never surrender. Total surrender. It’s the way of the Christian.
Today, read Acts 4. Focus on the pattern of never surrender/total surrender by those early disciples. Where is God calling you to never surrender? To total surrender?
