DanielSample

It’s everywhere. We can’t get rid of it. Paint over graffiti and someone else writes something in its place.
Daniel 5 tells the story of the first bit of graffiti ever! And who wrote it?
God did! Why?
God wanted us to learn from Belshazzar’s blatant wickedness, so God wrote his words on a wall so all humanity could read it!
Daniel interprets the writing and then states: ‘But you, Belshazzar, (Nebuchadnezzar’s successor), have not humbled yourself, though you knew (how God had humbled Nebuchadnezzar). Instead, you have set yourself up against the Lord of heaven. You had the goblets from his temple brought to you, and you and your nobles, … drank from them… and praised the gods of silver and gold, … but you did not honor the God who holds in his hand your life.’ Daniel 5:22-24.
Belshazzar set himself against the Lord of heaven by committing public idolatry in front of all the leaders of the nation.
Belshazzar knew exactly what he was doing and he did it publicly. So he had no excuse.
God intervened right then and there and wrote his judgment on the wall so all humanity can read it today.
And a few hours later Belshazzar was dead.

About this Plan

Through a series of dramatic visions, Daniel prophesies that ‘one like a son of man’ is coming from heaven to establish God’s kingdom on earth. The book gives penetrating insights into the prophetic lifestyle of a man in a high administrative office; an intercessor and a person of integrity, godliness, and courage. Daniel contains a feast of treasures to inspire and help us in our discipleship.
