Praying With the PsalmsSample

Psalm 150
“Let everything that has breath praise the LORD. Hallelujah!” (Psalm 150:6)
In Genesis 2:7, we read how God brought man into being by breathing into him the breath of life. We owe our lives to God, our Creator. The writer of Psalm 150 calls on us to praise God in many ways. Praise Him together wherever you gather as God's children (His sanctuary). Praise Him for His mighty deeds: His creation, salvation, redemption, forgiveness. Make known joyfully how good God is. Praise Him with your voice, with instruments, and with dance (Psalm 150:4). The writer calls on "everything that has breath" to praise God for His greatness. That praise often comes naturally when we feel well, happy, and grateful. Sometimes it is difficult because circumstances do not invite us to praise God. By praising God for who He is, you can recover your joy in life. And: singing and praying together as believers has binding power and is encouraging!
Prayer exercise:
Read Psalm 150 together at the beginning or end of a meal/meeting.
Read the verses aloud together. Make a circle and have each person present say one word of thanks to God. You can do likewise with other Psalms or Bible verses.
Thank you for completing these lessons. We hope it has been a blessing to you and has encouraged you to intensify your prayer life. We warmly invite you to learn more about God in one of our online courses or find answers to questions you may have through our website Biblword.net.
