Happily Ever After: And Everything BeforeSample

Sometimes in life, it can seem like we’re constantly dealing with circumstances that are overwhelming, upsetting, or disappointing. This can feel especially true in middle school! Our parents splitting up, the loss of a loved one, moving to a new school, being left out of the group chat, not making the team—it’s a lot, right? Well, while we can’t change the fact that our lives may not always be easy, we can change the way we respond to those circumstances and challenges.
Instead of giving up and giving in, we can look to Jesus, who promises to be with us in the midst of all that and more. While it won’t change our circumstances, it will change our hearts in our circumstances. When we choose to trust Jesus, we can find the confidence to face any challenge that comes our way.
This week, make a list of the things that are troubling you. When you pray, turn your troubles over to Jesus, asking Him to help you trust that He is with you and to change your heart as deal with those difficult things in your life.
