The Kid: An Advent Devotional for Middle SchoolersSample

In a world of instant notifications and 24/7 news, it's easy to be constantly anxious or fearful of the next bad thing on the way. What if you fail a test? What if your parents fight again? What if you don't make the team? What if something bad happens in your community? If we’re not careful, we can let those questions rooted in fear take over our thoughts.
Thankfully, Scripture shows us a different way to live. Because of the Lord, we can walk through the world with steady and secure hearts. Not because everything is perfect and bad news never comes, but because we can trust in God when it does. Because of what God has done for us at Christmas and beyond, we can face each day—and the good or bad news that comes with it—trusting that God is in control.
This week, spend time in prayer, asking God to help you remember that no matter what comes your way—good or bad—you can trust that God is in control and with you every step of the way.

About this Plan

A middle school devotional designed to show students how Jesus’ arrival that very first Christmas changed everything. In this devotional, you’ll discover how Christmas is really about Jesus, the Kid from the middle of nowhere who showed up and changed how we see ourselves, our circumstances, our relationships, and our fears.
