5 DAYS to QUIT DRINKINGSample

Romans 12:2 (ESV): Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.
Mindful Minute: As we enter day two of this challenge and commitment, realize that what awaits you moving forward is powerful. Our subconscious habit loop was created by our Heavenly Father to make our lives easier; however, when we allow sin in, we also allow the "habit loop" to take hold of our lives. In the Garden of Eden, God gave Adam and Eve wisdom and His loving instructions by telling them they had the freedom to choose anything except the fruit from the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil. The definition of discernment here and always will be understanding what our loving Father has warned us will cause us pain. Adam and Eve were told explicitly what would happen if they chose to eat from the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil (they would die). They started making rationalizations about why they would not die if they disobeyed.
The reason we sit here today focusing on this challenge is because much like Adam and Eve, we justified a choice in the past which conformed to "this world" and allowed sin to enter our lives. As a result, a habit loop developed that takes away an enormous amount of time, energy, and focus because our conscious thinking conflicts with our subconscious operating system. By giving ourselves an opportunity to redirect this habit to something new and good, we will give ourselves the ultimate gift of freeing up that time in favor of discernment about what is good and acceptable moving forward.
Prayer: Father, I pray today for a transformation in my thinking that will allow me to have a clearer focus on your Word and instruction. I desire my thoughts to be consumed by something other than my habit. I am tired of the psychological slavery my sin has yielded and look forward to the freedom that can be created by trusting you moving forward. With the help of the Holy Spirit, I am committed to this process. Thank you, Jesus.
