The American Bible Challenge Bible Study - Part 1Sample

Hey, thanks for coming back! I hope you enjoyed last week’s study. In the coming weeks, we’re going to focus on how the Bible impacts our lives. And today we start with one really big Bible deal: let’s talk about love. Love is a word we all use a lot. I might say, “I love ice cream.” Or: “I love my dog.” Or: “Honey, I love that dress on you.” (Which is usually true, depending on a long list of factors.)
But love is so much more than this.
Most people associate love with a feeling. But, when the Bible talks about it, it’s not just something you feel-- It’s something you do. It’s not always cheap or easy—but something that comes alive through action.
The Bible gives us example after example. Maybe the best examples are in the life of Jesus—who raised the bar on love like no one else before and no one else since. Maybe that’s why we’re still talking about Him some 2,000 years later.
But again: don’t just take my word for it, get into it for yourself. You can get started by clicking below.
Reflection:
As you consider where you’ve been and what you’ve done, what do you think about God’s love for you? Is it easy or difficult for you to receive God’s love? Why?
