Rhythm of Rest: Following Jesus' Pace in a Busy WorldSample

So often in our effort to find rest, we end up running to things that only drain us more. Doing things on our own leads us to more brokenness, emptiness, and weariness. The idea of Jesus being like a shepherd is often used throughout the Bible. A shepherd provides for his sheep by bringing them to water where they can drink, fields where they can sleep and eat, and away from paths that lead to danger. For sheep, life with the shepherd is better; and for us, life with Jesus is better.
The question we all need to ask is, “Is Jesus my shepherd?” Are you ready to receive guidance from danger, correction when you turn the wrong way, and grace when you miss the mark? In order to receive the life of rest that Jesus offers, we need to have the correct posture–one that follows the guiding of the shepherd. The more we intentionally make time for Jesus, the more rest we will experience as Jesus leads us to a better life. Take a look at how you’re spending your time–where can you make space for Jesus?

About this Plan

We all know what it feels like to be tired. We live in a world that seems to value always being involved in as many activities as possible so we don’t miss out. Jesus wants to take the heaviness in our lives from us, but true rest can only take place when we choose to follow him.
