God's Redemption Story (The Gospels)Sample

Resurrection – Day 4
Scripture tells us that, when Jesus was crucified, the disciples hid. We don’t know much else. Did they sit quietly and cry in the closet? Did they argue about who should have protected Jesus? Did they make plans to revolt against the Jewish leaders?
What we do know is how they responded to the good news of his resurrection. They didn’t debate or ponder or pack a picnic lunch. Peter and John ran! They ran all the way to the tomb to find out for themselves if it was true.
We’ve heard the story so many times that the gospel sometimes feels like old news to us—Good Friday, Easter, eggs, bunnies, candy. But Jesus died to pay our price and rose again to defeat death. That should inspire us to run—first to him and then to tell others.
