The Self-Care DevotionalSample

A Reminder to Rejoice
Today’s scripture passage reminds us to rejoice in those times when we’re feeling depleted by life. When hopelessness sets up camp in our hearts, the best thing we can do for ourselves is worship the Lord for who He is. We can praise Him for what He has done in our lives before and what He will do next. In tough moments, we can pray to God and pour out from the depths of our hearts with authenticity and freedom. And we can encourage one another to position ourselves in a faith posture, always pointing back to the Lord’s goodness. These intentional choices set our expectations of what is right and what is true. Even more, doing this allows you to stay emotionally and spiritually healthy no matter what comes your way. Anytime you fix your eyes on Jesus, comfort, hope, and peace follow.
Prayer: Dear God, sometimes it’s hard to rejoice when I feel hopeless. Help me remember that You are ready and willing to bring healing and restoration to my heart every time. Amen
