In This Together: 10 Devotions on the Book of EphesiansSample

An Essential Exchange
Praise God... who has blessed us with every blessing in heaven because we belong to Christ. Ephesians 1:3 TLB
There’s no “go-it-alone” message woven through the Word of God. Our lives depend on being joined with Christ in complete surrender. Every spiritual blessing, and in turn every earthly blessing, comes to us through Him. We need Jesus, and Jesus taught us to need each other. Being in perfect oneness with God, He could’ve walked His earthly journey alone, but He chose not to. His example is our lead. We are here for each other. We’re better when surrounded by those who encourage us and those who look to us for encouragement. It opens the door to a continual exchange of love and comfort, two essential gifts for our survival in life.
This world is often dark and difficult. The people God brings into our lives can offer light, direction, and purpose. Keeping our hearts open and our spirits sensitive will guide us into the fullest measure of love God intends for us to have in this one priceless life He’s given.
I pray my life reflects the welcome, loving heart You desire me to have, Lord. Help me see the needs in front of me with the eyes of Jesus.
