Devotions on F.I.R.E. Year OneSample

They do not serve your gods or worship the gold image which you have set up (Daniel 3:12).
How well do you stand up under pressure?
King Nebuchadnezzar allows the dream that he had to swell his head (Daniel 2:38). For this reason, he erects a ninety-foot idol to be worshiped. The Babylonians try to brainwash Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah by giving them new names; however, they, like Daniel, purpose to always please the Lord. Nebuchadnezzar, who is accustomed to having his way, becomes furious when the three Jewish men don't bow to his decree. I wonder what was hotter on that day, Nebuchadnezzar or the furnace for torture to intimidate the people? Amazingly the three men of conviction turn down a second chance to bow down to the image, knowing that their God can deliver them, and if not, they will not worship an idol. Their testimony is enlarged by God's supernatural protection.
Employment Point: Be willing to sacrifice your life to please the Lord.
