Devotions on F.I.R.E. Year OneSample

For You are my hope, O Lord GOD; You are my trust from my youth (Psalm 71:5).
How do you protect yourself from the fears associated with aging?
“By You I have been upheld from birth;” writes the psalmist, “You are He who took me out of my mother’s womb” (Psalm 71:6). The writer of this psalm rehearses God’s faithfulness to him from birth to combat his fears of growing old. He reflects upon his past, “O God, You have taught me from my youth; and to this day I declare Your wondrous works” (Psalm 71:17). Solomon’s following admonition to youth should be heeded: “Remember now your Creator in the days of your youth, before the difficult days come, and the years draw near when you say, ‘I have no pleasure in them’” (Ecclesiastes 12:1). Learning valuable faith lessons while young will help sustain you later.
Employment Point: Build a lasting godly foundation in your youth that will endure the test of time.
