Devotions on F.I.R.E. Year OneSample

For I have not shunned to declare to you the whole counsel of God (Acts 20:27).
Does your instruction to believers encompass the totality of God’s Word?
We need to boldly tell the saints not just what they want to hear but also the challenges they can expect from identifying with Christ. Paul informs the Ephesian leaders, “For I know this, that after my departure savage wolves will come in among you, not sparing the flock” (Acts 20:29). God equips us to take on the difficult role. The apostle reminds Timothy, who will pastor the flock at Ephesus, “For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind” (2 Timothy 1:7). Paul encourages Timothy not to “fear,” which means to exhibit cowardice, timidity, or reticence. Let’s serve our Christian family well with a full serving of God’s truth.
Employment Point: Equip the saints by teaching them the entirety of God’s Word.
About this Plan

Devotions on F.I.R.E. journeys through the Bible in one year. Each day includes a devotion based on Dr. Burge’s F.I.R.E. method of Bible Study. F.I.R.E. stands for Familiarity, Interpretation, Relationship, and Employment. The F.I.R.E. method and the daily devotions helps readers remember and apply what they read as they fuel the fire in their hearts for God’s Word.
