On RepeatSample

Reading the Bible can feel intimidating sometimes. But one simple way of studying Scripture is called S.O.A.P. It stands for "Scripture," "Observation," "Application," and "Prayer." We'll show you how—it's easy!
S: Scripture
If you haven't already, read today's passage of Scripture. Then summarize it in your own words.
O: Observation
Read Colossians 3:15–17 again.
- What words pop out to you in this passage? Make a list.
- What does it teach us about encouragement?
- Were there any parts of the passage that didn't make sense? Which ones?
A: Application
- What would reminding people of God's peace this week look like?
- What do you think about the passage saying to encourage one another with songs? If music isn't your thing, what's another outlet you could use to encourage others?
- What would it look like to let your actions toward others flow from a place of gratitude?
P: Prayer
Talk to God about the unique way you can share encouragement with others. Ask God to show you if there is anyone you need to seek peace with. End your prayer from a place of gratitude, thanking God for the encouragement you've been given.

About this Plan

When music connects with us, we can play a song on repeat and never get tired of it. When Jesus taught his followers what it looked like to live for God, he wanted them to get that same feeling. In this 4-week devotional series from Grow Curriculum, we'll explore the ways Jesus treated people and how we can make loving like Jesus a part of our lives.
