In the ShadowsSample

Want an easy-to-remember way to read and study the Bible? No matter which passage of Scripture you're reading, ask yourself these three questions: "What?" "So What?" "Now What?" We'll show you how!
WHAT? What is this passage about?
This week, we're talking about how to keep praying when it seems God doesn't hear us. How would you describe Hannah's prayers in this passage?
SO WHAT? Why does it matter?
- Why do you think God didn't answer Hannah's prayer right away? Why might God's answer to our prayers be "not yet"?
- When you read this passage, what reasons did you think of that a person might pray repeatedly for something?
NOW WHAT? What should I do about it?
- Have you ever prayed for something repeatedly and felt like God didn't answer you? What happened?
- Why do you think persistence is important in our prayers? How might your prayers be shaped by bringing them to God over a period of time?
- What's a prayer you can continue to bring to God but might alter to invite God's will into the situation?

About this Plan

As we grow and experience more life, we might find the shadows of doubt or questions creeping towards us. Rather than running from the shadows, we can look to God to cast some light on the situation. In this 4-week devotional series from Grow Curriculum, we'll take a look at stories that draw us closer to God's light whenever we feel lost in the shadows.
