Forgiveness: Looking at Your Neighbor From the Love of GodSample

ME! A Compassionate Look at Myself
In the process of introspection, as a human being, I strive to be aware that my judgments and beliefs color all my perceptions. I recognize that it's valid not to be perfect. Being aware of this obliges me to adopt a more compassionate look at myself, to try to understand myself, and to know that I can feel pain, anger, and sadness. It's valid to feel because I am a human being who thinks and sees the world based on my history and experiences. And my perspective is okay because it tells my story.
In the end, while it's valid to feel, the most important thing is to know that I shouldn't remain stuck in that feeling. It's about feeling it, identifying it, and not judging myself for it, but above all, it's about overcoming it. And that's what makes me a better human being. When I heard the song of day 1, 'Jesucristo basta' by the group Un Corazón, a beautiful phrase resonated with me: 'Just as we are, He loved us.' God loves us just as we are unconditionally. When I look at myself with love and remember that I am his beloved child, I know that I can feel, that I can make mistakes, and, above all, I know that in any battle, He will be there to help me get up without judging me.
Take the time to reflect on the times when you haven't forgiven yourself for something you've done, said, or felt. Think about how you should work on self-forgiveness.
We invite you to listen to the song 'Mighty to Save' by the group Hillsong Worship, which speaks of the redeeming power and hope found in faith.

About this Plan

How easy is seeing the good in another, especially when anger clouds our judgment? Stopping and exercising empathy to understand someone else's story is an act of will. It is recognizing that God loves us all equally and that his love is not exclusive to a few.
