The Gospel of MarkSample

Let’s hone in on the story of the woman haemorrhaging. It had been going on for 12 years, meaning extreme uncomfort but also that she was impure and infertile. We can only imagine the loneliness she must have felt for all those years. Theologian Janet Soskice says: “Her blood is flowing to no purpose, and its flow precludes new life.” (“Blood and Defilement: Christology” in The Kindness of God, 2008, p95). But the power of Jesus to bring healing, meaning, and new life rewrites her story and is the same for us today! Bring Him the pain and difficulties you might be going through in faith of His redemption.
