The Gospel of MarkSample

The oldest manuscripts for Mark seem to end at verse 8, which is a very abrupt ending. Then later editions have verses 9-20.
Because Mark’s gospel account is the first one written down, it is often seen as controversial that Jesus does not physically appear to anyone before the verse 8 ending of the oldest manuscripts. Some people believe that verses 9-20 were added later by scribes who were uncomfortable with the abrupt ending. There are a number of interpretations we can use for this chapter that lead to a stronger faith in Jesus and the resurrection.
