The Jesus Mark Wants You to Know - 28 Days to Become More Intimate With JesusSample

Day 15 - Mark 9:1-33
Fasting and Prayer
“Anything is possible if a person believes.”
When Jesus comes down off the mountain, where He was transfigured into the glory of heaven, He encountered the valley of despair and unbelief. The disciples were trying to deliver a man's son from an evil spirit that was trying to kill him. But they could not do it.
Jesus showed His frustration and anger over their lack of faith and later told them they couldn't cast out the spirit because it comes out by fasting and prayer. The fasting and prayer would allow them to do what Jesus does, i.e. walking intimately with the Father and in faith doing what the Father wants to do.
The boy’s dad was desperate and wanted to believe that his son could be set free. But neither he nor the disciples had the faith to cast it out. So in humility and hope, he cried out to Jesus, “I do believe but help my unbelief.”
When I face these kinds of demonic strongholds, do I have the kind of faith that is required to deal with it? Do I spend time fasting and praying so that I am walking intimately with the Father and ready to do His work? As a result, am I fully convinced that the power of the Holy Spirit will work through me?
