Day 4: Stay With Me

When writing Stay With Me there was an overwhelming theme of grace. This was one of quickest songs we wrote because writing about something you don't deserve but everyone has access to leaves us with much to be said about God. This song is about falling in love with Jesus, whether it's your first time or you are coming back to Him again. Regardless of where you are in life, anyone can see themselves in these lyrics. 

Sometimes we ask for grace from our Father and then there are other times where grace can rush in unexpectedly. Those times are usually when it can be the most beautiful and powerful experience. We can have walls built up of hurt or anger that can be like a fortress surrounding our hearts. It affects our lives, our relationships and consumes who we are; but when grace sweeps in relentlessly, unannounced they begin to tumble. There's not time to reject his love or to let the enemy play tricks with our mind, or to deny or rationalize the love you feel, only time to breathe in his unconditional love. 

God is abundant in mercy and grace and it's evident all through the Bible. His biggest act of grace was the gift of salvation and although we are all undeserving, its available to all. His grace enables us to sing songs like Stay With Me and make declarations that our hearts are His and that our lives are devoted to Him forever. Make it your goal to have a deep, intimate relationship with God. Let Him into every single area of your life and as we live to please God, He promises to bless our lives and make us prosper. (1 Thessalonians 2:4). So if you mess up, don’t be dismayed. Don't let that thing hold you back; confess it and keep moving forward. God will give you grace to do what you need to do. 

Prayer Point

God I pray that you would cover me today. Clean my heart, take out anything that is not of you. Forgive me for anything I've done or said that was not pleasing to your heart. Thank you for your grace. Thank you for your love. I give you all the praise.
