There’s nothing quite like knowing that no matter where you are in the world, there is always someone who will hear you when you call. That we have a connection with God that goes beyond just the four church walls but reaches out into our everyday lives. Our God hears us when we’re praying on our commute home from work, in a plane where the turbulence has made us just a little bit nervous, and God even hears our hurried and whispered prayers as we’re quickly running from one grandkid’s play to the next grandkid’s soccer game.
When the prayers are full of joy and thanks, God is always there listening. And when those prayers become a little more desperate and panicked, when we feel like we have nothing left to give, God is also there to hear those cries. No matter what the circumstance, when we cry out to God, we can stand firm in the knowledge that we will always be heard. Even though the idea seems impossible, even if every person on earth prayed at the same time, God would still hear your specific prayer. What an incredible gift, and a gift we all may not use as much as we should. Today, spend some time in prayer thanking God for always listening when we call, no matter where, when, or how it happens.
