Five Purposes of PrayerSample

Day 6 – Placing Requests Unto God
Lastly, God also purposed prayer for us to place requests before Him. Spiritual growth can magnetise things into your life, like favour with God and men (see Luke 2:52). But there are some things you can only get by faith through prayer. Jesus said in Matthew 7:7 that,
“Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. – Matthew 7:7 (NKJV)
You can only ask God when you pray. You seek and knock by being more persistent in your prayers. But there are some things God checks before granting prayer requests. One of them is the motive behind what you do. If you ask God amiss, He won’t give you what you requested. That’s why James 4:3 (NKJV) says,
“You ask and do not receive, because you ask amiss, that you may spend it on your pleasures.”
Friend, have a clear and unselfish motive for your prayer requests unto God.
