Investing in others takes time, but it can have a lasting spiritual influence. Each day we must choose to be available to or ignore the opportunities God gives us. Availability involves being willing to adjust our own schedule, agenda, and plans to God's priorities. When we are available, we make our personal priorities secondary to the needs of others. JoAnne Ellison tells about a divine appointment God created just for her.

Even in everyday circumstances, God can use you if you make space for Him. This can take many different forms. Praying for opportunities is a first step. Express your openness to God and watch as He opens doors. Sometimes He will give you a creative idea, other times you will see clear ways to act. You never know when or where an opportunity might happen as you are available to Him.
