Wise words often give us insight into God, the world, and ourselves. And yet, wise words don’t just leave us with profound insights, they also tell us what to do with these insights! So, what we learn from the Apostle James is, “The God of the Universe will come close to you, if you come close to Him!” Yes, you read that right. God wants to come close to you. So what can you do with this insight?
Come close to God at least once today through Scripture, prayer, or community. And here’s the best part: As you regularly come close to God, God’s job is to show you how to wash your hands of sin, purify your heart, and re-order the things you love. Your job is simply to come close.
