Daily Bible Reading—March 2024, God’s Guiding Word: PrayerSample

March 12
Introduction
Esther 6:1–13: The king reads the official records of the empire and learns of how Mordecai thwarted a plot to kill him (see Esther 2:21–23). The king orders Haman to have Mordecai honored, much to Haman’s embarrassment.
Today’s Key Verse: Esther 6:11b
[Haman announced]: “See how the king rewards a man he wishes to honor!”
Reflect
What were Haman’s thoughts when he was summoned by the king? How was Mordecai honored? What do you suppose was Haman’s reaction? What warning did Haman’s wife and friends give him? What is your reaction to what took place?
Pray
Lord God, you see deep into my heart and know my thoughts. Nothing is hidden from you. Guard my thoughts, words, and actions this day. To you alone, O God, I offer thanks and praise. Amen.
Tomorrow’s Reading
Esther 6:14—7:10: Haman is put to death.
