On Mission

DAY 5 OF 15

Today Jesus’ instruction to the disciples is known as ‘The Great Commission’. It’s a mission not just given to the disciples, but for everyone who follows Jesus. That includes us, it’s our mission too! In the time after Jesus died and rose again, He appeared to His disciples and others. Imagine what they felt seeing Jesus again? They saw the marks on His hands and feet, they spoke with Him and ate with Him.

Jesus empowered His disciples with the Holy Spirit and sent them out to spread the good news about Him. This mission Jesus gave the disciples, over 2,000 years ago, He gives to us too. Through all generations from then to now there are people who need to hear the good news about Jesus. Do you remember when you first heard the gospel and gave your life to Jesus?

The last book of the Bible, Revelation, paints a picture of heaven, a great many people, too many people to count, from every nation and every language of the earth all worshipping God. What an amazing picture to imagine. This is what the mission is all about!

About this Plan

On Mission

Before Jesus went to heaven He gave His disciples a mission to tell others about Him. We have that same mission today, to share the good news about Jesus. This 15-Day plan explores the Great Commission, our mission to tell others about Jesus, how the Holy Spirit empowers us for this mission, and how we can live our lives ‘On Mission’ for Jesus!
